THE DEATH CAR
(TODAY)
WHISKEY PETE'S,
BONNIE & CLYDE'S DEATH CAR
& SANDY JONES
Whiskey Pete's Hotel & Casino owns and displays
The Bonnie & Clyde "death car" in their lobby.

Sandy Jones, private collector and curator of
"The John Dillinger Historical Society", has an
impressive display of authentic Bonnie & Clyde
artifacts.

He's an expert on Bonnie & Clyde history, and
had been a close friend to Marie Barrow, Clyde's
sister, who had passed away recently.

Mr. Jones, who owns a beautiful 1934 Fordor
Deluxe Sedan, is currently restoring another,
to the exact specifications of the "original"
Bonnie and Clyde death car.

On January 15th 1998, Sandy had the opportunity
to "go behind the scenes" literally, to examine
the original car.

I say "behind the scenes"... because it's kept
behind a glass partition, which separates it
from the public, and protects it from souvenir
hunters.

The casino had welcomed Mr.Jones to examine
their prize exhibit, up close and personal.

He in return, supplied the car's owners with
proof of it's authenticity, from both his
expertise and documents supplied to him by
Clyde's sister, Marie.

Bob Fischer, who has a fantastic website
entitled "The John Dillinger File", had joined
Sandy in a two-hour examination of the car.

About one hundred photographs were taken during
the exploration of the car.

Below are several images from the photos taken
by Sandy Jones...

I would like to take this time to thank Sandy,
for contributing the following photographs to
"The Hideout"......

"We have an interesting story to put together
about the shooting, based on the angles of the
bullets" -Sandy Jones

"There is clear evidence of a front volley, side
volley and rear volley, both small and large
caliber" -Bob Fischer

"After spending about an hour and a half with the
car, I have no doubt that it is the original car
Bonnie and Clyde were killed in" -Sandy Jones
